Refurbish Update

My progress on the refurbishing of the stuff I got at the market and we took a piece of fabric and made it into a piece of art for my living room!

FashionFoodieLA: Gloria's is glorious!

While watching the Food Network, they visited Gloria's on Venice blvd and were raving about the Seven Seas Soup. It had shrimp and crab legs crawling out of the bowl!

Seven Seas Soup 

The Seven Seas Soup has fish, shrimp,crab legs, octopus, calamari, and scallops in a veggie broth. The food was good, but as you can see the guacamole was amazing! We ate it all!

I got a #7 which has a beef tamale, a cheese enchilada, and a beef taco. The taco and tamale were so good! I have had better enchilada sauce. If the sauce on the enchilada is not great, the enchilada will be bland and boring. My advice, either go for taco's and tamale's or go for the Seven Seas Soup.

The fried plantains were so tasty! I was overall surprised at how busy and how good the food was. From the street, you would never know it is such a gem! I really like Gloria's. Go visit and tell me what you think. Or, if you're not in Los Angeles, tell me a great restaurant where you live with an amazing seafood soup!

DTLA Prom

In an old school 1920's hotel ballroom the adults of LA held a masquerade ball. If your prom bombed the way mine did, having the chance to do it over was a chance I didn't pass up!

I was wearing a greed dress with sequence and I was still underdressed - I wasn't wearing a mask or a hat. I noticed when I was standing in line for the check-in that everyone else was dressed fancy but funky. Oh well! I still partied the night away and had a grand time! Beautiful people wearing masks and costumes dancing the night away to a funky DJ made the DTLA Prom exciting and fun.

It was way better than my prom back in High School. I can't wait for next year!!

The Coop Pizza Joint

The Coop is a take out only and cash only Italian restaurant. (Bonus: They have parking!!) 

NOTE: This place is small and has NO seating - the food is so good they run the whole restaurant as a to go only place. The do have pizza by the slice, but you gotta eat it standing up at the tiny counter. They are known for their pizza with a New York style thin crust. It is fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside!! The people running The Coop are super sweet and a lot of fun. 

After you order, you should check out the market next door. 

They have some random, but fun foods!

At The Pita Kitchen in Sherman Oaks you will be able to find the freshest ingredients and great prices! I have only had their falafel and chicken shawarma pitas. Their hummus is amazing and they put chopped veggies (cucumbers, lettuce, tahini sauce) inside the pita, too!

CoolHaus makes their own ice cream and cookies!!
We tried the Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip Cookie with Green Tea Ice Cream
and the Double Chocolate and Sea Salt Cookie with Dirty Mint Ice Cream sandwiches.
CoolHaus started as a food truck and now has their own shop! So yummy!
